Research

My research involves with kinematics and physics of earthquake source process, and seismic imaging with dense arrays. My current research project with Prof. Zhongwen Zhan focuses on a newly proposed subevent method for kinematic rupture inversion. The idea is initiated because evidences of multiple fault multi segment rupture suggest difficulty of using traditional source inversion methods. I also work with Prof. Robert Clayton on imaging the shallow structure of LA Basin with dense seismic arrays, because such arrays provide unprecedented data coverage.
