I study the dynamics of ice flows in Antarctica using geodetic and seismological observations. With Prof. Mark Simons, we infer the tidally induced flow variations of Evans Ice Stream from systematic SAR observations. Our goal is to better understand the mechanism of how ocean tidal signals are transmitted inland. With Prof. Zhongwen Zhan, we work on seismic imaging of the sentimental structure underneath the ice at Siple Coast from which we hope to gain insight on the sensitivity of fast flowing ice streams to deformable beds.
